Funny Stories

I asked members of START if they had any funny art related stories, this is the response I got…

My daughter learnt her colours very early; so could name red, yellow etc by the time she was about two, and she was always encouraged in her artistic endeavours using paints, felt pens, and the like. After one very exhausting day (you know what two year olds are like!), I popped out of the living room to start the tea, leaving her with her felt pens. On my return (within seconds) I noticed a large felt pen streak across the carpet. "Georgina!" I fumed "What on earth do you call that on the living room floor?" Georgina nonplussed looked up at me with a quizzical look that implied I'd totally lost it and said " I call it mauve!" How could I possibly be angry after that!

The funniest/ most peculiar thing that happened when we were in the Gallery was when a man came in asking if we had anything in red! His wife had just decorated and wanted a red picture to compliment her decor. The other thing I remember was when my husband looked at the piece I'm doing at the moment and said that in his opinion I had painted our dog beautifully, didnt like to tell him it was a collage and the dog was a cut out photo. Ignorance is bliss.
